
GRENIER WITH TEAMMATES MARO ENGEL AND KENNY HABUL(TEAM OWNER) COMBINED TIME GOOD FOR A SECOND PLACE ON THE GRID
Mikaël Grenier had flown to Abu Dhabi earlier this week to join SunEnergy1 Racing who entered the Hankook Dubai 24 Hours that is to take place on January 13-15 at the Dubai Autodrome.
In preparation for that event, the team also entered this weekend’s Gulf 12 Hours a the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 is prepared by SPS Automotive Performance for both events.

SPS Automotive Performance is based in Obersulm, Germany nearly 45 minutes from Stuttgart. They are also quite active in the 24H Series as well as Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe and International GT Open.
This is the same preparation team that was present at Daytona last January where SunEnergy1 and Mikaël Grenier finished on the podium.
The qualifying effort combined the times from each drivers(1: 52.440) : Kenny Habul 1:54.443; Mikaël Grenier 1:51.334(fastest in his heat) and Maro Engel 1:51.543.
The race will be divided into two 6 hours races. The first half is set to go green at 9:40am Abu Dhabi time(Saturday 12:30am Eastern Time). The second half is to start at 5:33pm Abu Dhabi time(Saturday 8:30am Eastern time).
