Canadian Jeff Kingsley To Make His Debut In GT World Challenge Europe

THE 2020 IMSA PORSCHE GT3 CUP CHALLENGE AMERICA CHAMPION SIGNED WITH GERMAN GETSPEED PERFORMANCE TEAM FOR THE ENDURANCE CUP ROUNDS
Jeff Kingsley had enjoyed a successful 2020 season in the last year of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge America (now known as the Porsche Carrera Cup, NDLR) being crowned the series Champion. Last season, we saw him drive for Compass Racing, a Canadian owned team now based in California in an Acura NSX GT3. The team had entered rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
After successful test days with GetSpeed Performance at the wheel of the Mercedes AMG GT3 at Circuit Paul Ricard(France) and in Portimao(Portugal), Kingsley was confirmed as one of the team’s drivers. The team has entered the no. 3 Mercedes AMG GT3 in the Silver Cup class.

“I am thrilled to start for GetSpeed in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Championship. The test at the start of February at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve was my first time in a Mercedes-AMG GT3, which I know is a fast race car. The team welcomed me with open arms in Portugal. My goal is to challenge for podiums, race wins and ultimately the title with GetSpeed. As a Canadian making the trip across the pond, I am also looking forward to getting to know the legendary Formula 1 circuits in Europe. Here’s to an awesome season,” mentioned the 23-year-old Kingsley.
Founded in 2013 and located in the Nürburgring business park directly on the legendary Nordschleife, GetSpeed’s mission is to provide professional support for sports and racing drivers. GetSpeed Performance team is managed by Adam Osieka who brings a lot of experience with him as a managing partner, racing driver, part-time engineer.
The team has entered series like GT Open, VLN(Nürburgring Endurance Championship), ADAC GT4 and DTM.
Kingsley will be teaming up with France’s Set Baud and Denmark’s Valdemar Eriksen.
Baud is 21-year-old and won the JS2 R class of the Liigier European Series in 2020. More recently, he has been racing in the Silver Cup in the GT4 European Series.
19-year-old Eriksen has tasted victory in the Spanish and Danish Formula 4 championships and last year finished eleventh overall in the GTWC Silver Cup.
“With this trio, we have a promising line-up. We will use our expertise to help them develop with us, and will do everything we can to ensure that they are successful,” said Osieka.
The opening round of the Endurance Cup takes place from 1st to 3rd April in Imola(Italy).
The race scheduled for April 1st at 3pm local time is to be a three hours endurance race and can be seen on GT World Challenge Europe YouTube channel.
