Newly signed Mercedes-AMG Motorsport driver Mikaël Grenier to race DTM with Gruppe M

IT HAS BEEN A WELL KEPT SECRET IN MIKAËL’S ENTOURAGE AS TODAY IT WAS ANNOUNCED HE WILL BE RACING ONE OF SEVEN MERCEDES-AMG GT3 CARS IN THE GERMAN TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP (DTM)
Grenier will be the third Canadian to compete in the German Series following in the footsteps of Bruno Spengler(2005-2011 Mercedes Benz; 2012-2019 BMW) and Robert Wickens(2012-2017), both driving for Mercedes Benz when they debuted in the series.
“The DTM is synonymous with top professional racing and fierce competition. It’s an extraordinary challenge for me and I’m already looking forward to it! 2022 will be a pivotal year for me”, mentioned Mikaël.
Mikaël will be joining his Mercedes-AMG teammate Maro Engel(GruppeM Racing), as well as defending champion Maximilian Götz, Lucas Auer(Winward Racing), Maximilian Buhk(Mücke Motorsport), Luca Stolz and Arjun Maini(Haupt Racing Team (HRT)).
The confirmed calendar has eight weekends scheduled for the 2022 season and the first one is to take place from April 29-May 1 at the Portimão circuit in Portugal with some pre-season testing taking place ahead of the race.
