SPS Automotive Performance and Mikaël Grenier win class in Race 1 of Asian Le Mans Series in Dubai

NEWLY SIGNED MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT JUNIOR DRIVER GETS FOURTH FASTEST TIME OF THE RACE IN GT
Mikaël Grenier is off to a good start in Asian Le Mans Series as yesterday, during the qualifying session for today’s race 1, he ended with the fourth fastest time only 0.105 seconds from pole position. It is worth mentioning the first 14 drivers were within a second during that qualifying session.
Driving a double stint in the later part of the race 1, Grenier was on the attack and again proved he can mix it up with the best. His best time was 1:58.096 good for fourth fastest in the race. 0.219s form the McLaren 720S GT3 of Inception Racing.
Although the SPS Automotive Performance team, (Valentin Pierburg, John Loggie, Mikael Grenier) ended 20th overall and 12th in GT, they won their GT P/A class.
Grenier also drove the no. 20 Mercedes-AMG GT3 during the second qualifying and ended up 9th 0.264s from pole position. In a brief post-qualifying team video, Grenier mentioned he got caught up in traffic. 17 GT cars were within a second during that qualifying session.
