Mark Wilkins and Robert Wickens to start seventh in IMPC at Daytona

QUALIFYING TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WITH A FINAL PRACTICE COMPLETED THIS MORNING
The weather has not been cooperating at Daytona so far, making it difficult for teams and drivers to find the right balance on their car.
Robert Wickens was at the wheel of the no. 33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR for the qualifying session, and it all came down to tire choices. Was it going to be wet tires or slicks. With a drying track, you also had to choose the right time to go out there. The rain was drizzling enough to make the Daytona International Speedway surface damp; it came down to a gamble.
Unfortunately for Wickens, the team went for the wet tire choice, and the moment he went out to set his time, the track was drying. So, it is in P7 that the Canadians will start the four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona.

Infinity Autosport see Kyle Marcelli back for the race. They qualified 23rd, with Sheena Monk at the wheel.
This morning, teams had 30 minutes to make their final preparations for the race on a dryer track. Mark Wilkins ended the session in second place for the Bryan Herta Autosport team, with a 1:59.559. Much more representative of dry running.
JG Wentworth Racing by Infinity Autosport elected to only run three laps and did not record any lap time.
