Sebring Hour 4: Daniel Morad and Alegra out of the race as Vanthoor takes GTD lead
FULL COURSE CAUTION CAUSED BY SEVERE CONTACT BETWEEN #19 GRT AND #28 ALEGRA MOTORSPORT
We are still waiting to hear the circumstances which caused the accident, although it looks like Franck Perrera of the #19 lost the car under braking for some unknown reason at corner 3 and not able to slow the car down ran into the side of Billy Johnson of #28 Alegra Motorsports.
Both cars hit the tire wall with enough force to move the cement barrier back several feet. Both drivers are ok but their cars not so much. Following repairs to the barrier and fencing lasting about 30 minutes, the race resumed.
Laurens Vanthoor, who restarted in second place for Pfaff Motorsports, took the lead shortly after and hold a very slim margin over second place Jan Heylen in #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche. Third is Roman De Angelis who is out for his first stint of the race.
Kenny Habul is currently at the wheel o f the SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes and is shown in ninth place. The team is still 2 laps down form the GTD leader.
