Pfaff Motorsports tops evening practice in GTD at Sebring
MIKAËL GRENIER QUICKEST IN SECOND PRACTICE AS TEAMS COMPLETED THREE PRACTICE SESSIONS ON THURSDAY
Great to see IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar back in action this weekend at Sebring International Raceway. 13 cars are entered for the GTD Class and Canadians are back in force.
FP1 took place at 9:05 this morning for a first 60 minutes track time. Top three in GTD went to #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 with 2:00.456. They were followed by #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 (2:00.663) and #19 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (2:00.966).
#75 Sun Energy 1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Mikaël Grenier/Kenny Habul/Maro Engel (2:01.158) were sixth, Zach Robichon/Laurens Vanthoor/Lars Kern for Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3R (2:01.735) placed eight, Daniel Morad/Michael de Quesada/Billy Johnson with Alegra Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2:02.053) were ninth and Ian James/Roman De Angelis/Ross Gunn Heart Of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (2:02.940) 12th.

Mikael Grenier (2:01.859) recorded eight laps, Daniel Morad (2:02.053) with 18 laps completed and Zacharie Robichon (2:02.092) completed 11 laps. Roman De Angelis did not participate in the session.
Session 2 took place in the early afternoon and Mikaël Grenier came out quickest in GTD with a time of 2:01.111, 0.208s ahead of Robby Foley in the Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 (2:01.319) and Tim Zimmermann in the GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (2:01.376) in third.
Alegra Motorsports posted the fourth quickest time in their #28Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2:01.636), #23 Heart Of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (2:01.950) were eight fastest and Lars Kern put in a time of 2:02.825 for Pfaff Motorsports good enough for 10th place.
Roman De Angelis (2:02.745) registered 13 laps, Daniel Morad and Zach Robichon did not take part in the session.

The 90 minutes evening session took place from 7:30-9:00 and this time it was Laurens Vanthoor who set the quickest time of the session for Pfaff Motorsports with a lap in 2:01.241. This set the fastest time of the session with an advantage of 0.360s over Aaron Telitz with the Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 (2:01.601) and 0.514s over Franck Perera #19 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 (2:01.755) in third.
Mikaël Grenier’s teammate, Maro Engel, placed fifth for the #75 Sun Energy 1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 with 2:02.003, Heart Of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (2:02.180) placed eight and Alegra Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 (2:02.833) concluded in 12th place.
Roman De Angelis (2:02.661) completed 11 laps, Mikaël Grenier (2:03.717) was out for six laps, Daniel Morad (2:04.234) went out for five laps and Zacharie Robichon (2:03.568) 6 laps.

It’s all about qualifying tomorrow starting at 11:15am with the GTD class. On top of the Pole Position to be awarded, points towards the Championship will also be awarded.
