Alegra Motorsports sets fastest time in GTD practice 1
MATT CAMPBELL SETS THIRD FASTEST TIME FOR PFAFF MOTORSPORTS AND MIKAËL GRENIER 8TH FOR SUNENERGY1
First practice for the Rolex 24 at Daytona was briefly stopped twice during the one hour session with Mirko Bortolotti encountered problems with his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the early stages of the session than with just over 10 minutes remaining it was Cody Ware in the #51 LMP2 of RWR-Eurasia that went off at the bus stop.
From the beginning of the session, Alegra Motorsports Mercedes AMG GT3 had set the pace first with Maximilian Buhk then it was Billy Johnson who ended the session with a 1:45.822 for Alegra Motorsports. Daniel Morad did not take part in the session.
Pfaff Motorsport saw Matt Campbell in the car for the entire session and put in a lap of 1:45.882 on his penultimate lap at the wheel of the Motul Porsche 911 GT3 R only 0.060 seconds behind. Second place was another Porsche 911 GT3 R this one from #88 Team Hardpoint EBM as Earl Bamber recorded a lap of 1:45.864.
Mikaël Grenier edged his teammate Lucas Stolz by 0.011 seconds in the SunEnergy1 Mercedes AMG GT3 with a time of 1:46.152.
Roman De Angelis did not take part in this session as his The Heart of Racing’s teammates Darren Turner and Ross Gunn took turns at the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The #23 finishing practice 1 in 15th place with a time from Darren Turner of 1:46.854, 1.032 seconds form the lead time.
