AWA Racing second fastest in Michelin Pilot Challenge practice 1 at Daytona
KUNO WITTMER SETS SECOND FASTEST TIME IN GS PRACTICE 1 .052 SECONDS FROM LEADER
IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competitors were back on the track today following a two day “rest”.
The 60 minutes session was interrupted for over 25 minutes when Wright Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport driver Ryan Hardwick went off track at the bus stop.
Teams did managed to complete anywhere from 10-15 laps during the session.
#43 Stephen Cameron Racing LLC BMW M4 GT4 driven by Gregory Liefooghe ended with the fastest time with a 1:54.804. AWA Racing’s Kuno Wittmer came in second place with a 1:54.856 on his third lap out of seven. Third place went to Robby Foley in the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 with 1:54.944.
Kyle Marcelli with KohR Motorsports ended the session in fifth, Motorsports In Action with Sheena Monk at the wheel 12th and James Vance with FAST MD RACING in 18th.
In the TCR class, Fastest time went to Mikey Taylor with the #17 Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports Audi RS3 LMS SEQ. His time of 1:58.246 was 2.718 seconds quicker than Roy Block #5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCR with 2:00.964 for second place. Third in class was Denis Dupont in the #19 VAN DER STEUR RACING Hyundai Veloster N TCR with a time of 2:01.135.
Mark Wilkins, who completed nine laps, ended up in 15th.
