FEL intends to launch a new GT4/TCR racing platform for Canada in 2021
AN ANNOUNCEMENT COULD BE MADE EARLY IN THE NEW YEAR WITH AN INTENDED SCHEDULE
FEL (Franczak Enterprises Canada Ltd.) has been an avid supporter of Canadian drivers over the years and currently can be seen on the GTD Motul Plaid Pfaff Motorsports Porsche that races in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as well as partnering the Championship winning Pfaff Motorsports Audi RS3 TCR in the Canadian Touring Car Championship.
They have also been a feature sponsor in the Toyo F1600 Championship, where their goal was to build grids and support young, up and coming drivers.
They are now eying on putting together a new GT4/TCR racing platform starting in 2021.
FEL President Chris Bye: “After meeting with many of the sportscar teams and discussions with Ron Fellows, it became apparent that there was an opportunity to take sports car racing in Canada to the next level. A racing series that offers a ‘value proposition’ to the teams, drivers and sponsors. A term used often by Ron”, FEL President Chris Bye said.
“With decades of experience as a driver, team owner and sponsor, FEL and myself are uniquely positioned to raise the bar in Canadian Motorsports and I am looking forward to stepping up to a new challenge in my professional career within the automotive landscape. Initial conversations with teams and sponsors have been very encouraging and we are looking forward to next steps and turning our intent into reality,” Bye said. “We hope to be able to announce a new series with a schedule and details early in the new year.”
Let’s now wait and see if everything comes together in the New Year for Canadian Motorsport fans.
