Jeff Kingsley second in Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA race 2 at Road America
KINGSLEY STARTED FROM SECOND PLACE TOOK THE LEAD OFF THE START AND WAS ON HIS WAY TO ANOTHER WIN UNTIL A LATE CAUTION
Jeff Kingsley started the race on the front row next to pole sitter Riley Dickinson for race 2.
Off the start, Kingsley took the lead and opened up a gap of over two seconds and maintained this lead until a full course yellow came out with less than 15 minutes to go in this 45 minutes race due to a contact between two cars at corner 5.
With less than 4 minutes to go, the pace car came in and released the field where Kingsley had another great restart and started pulling away… until he made a mistake under braking at corner 5 where he went wide.
This gave the opportunity to Dickinson to take over the lead as Kingsley defended to keep his now second place from Alan Metini.
With one lap to go, Kingsley did his best to reel in Riley Dickinson but came 0.867 behind the race winner. Alan Metini took third place.
In the championship, having both a win and a second place, Riley Dickinson and Jeff Kingsley share the top spot in the standing with 67 points.
The next race for the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama is set for Virginia International Raceway on August 21-23.
