It is Ricky Taylor who was behind the wheel for the #7 Acura DPi and Taylor clocked a 1:49.061 lap that bettered the sister #6 Acura DPi driven by Dane Cameron by 0.318 second. Third on the grid will be the #55 Mazda Motorsports 0.546 second adrift for pole; the car being driven by Harry Tincknell.
With still over three minutes left in the qualifying session, Felipe Nasr went off the track at corner 7 in the #31 Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac DPi which caused a red flag and brought the session to an end.
The LMP2 class has four cars present at Road America this weekend. #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports(Kelly/Trummer) will start from pole followed by #81 DragonSpeed Usa(Hedman/Hanley) and third the #38 Performance Tech Motorsports(French/Cassels).
Another great battle in GTLM for pole as we had to wait to the last lap to see if Jordan Taylor could better the 2:00.590 time of Laurens Vanthoor in the #912 Porsche RSR . Third place went to the #4 Corvette of Oliver Gavin/Tommy Milner, Gavin crossing the line 0.314s behind the Porsche. Our Canadian representative, Bruno Spengler, qualified the #25 BMW M8 GTE of BMW Team RLL in fourth place.
In the GTD class, it will be an all AIM VASSER SULLIVAN front row with the Lexus RC F GT3 coming out fastest the class.
