Canadian Mikaël Grenier to start his season in July as GT World Challenge Europe updated its calendar

THE NEW CALENDAR WILL COMPRISE EIGHT EVENTS SPLIT EVENLY BETWEEN SRINT CUP AND ENDURANCE CUP

The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season is to kick off at Imola with a 3-hour endurance race on the July 18-19 weekend. It will be followed by sprint events at Misano on August 7-9 with three 1-hour races. The Nurburgring round has been extended to a 6-hour endurance race that is to take place on September 5-6 and the following week will be a sprint cup rounds at Magny-Cours(11-13 September), (25-27 September) and Barcelona with three 1-hour races (9-11 October).

The Total 24 Hours of Spa will have its official test days on September 29-30 and its race scheduled for the weekend of October 22-25.

The season will end at Circuit Paul-Ricard with its 6-hour endurance cup race on November 13-15.

Series organizers stated the health of those involved remains a priority. As such, they will follow local regulations and implement appropriate precautions and maintaining social distancing rules for the safety of everyone.

Further information on these measures will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, efforts are focused on returning to racing and delivering an exciting season of racing in 2020.

All dates remain subject to government and ASN measures covering the resumption of sporting events. The revised calendar will be amended accordingly if GT World Challenge Europe is unable to begin its 2020 campaign in July.
