Canadian Multimatic Motorsports to head IMSA Mazda RT24-P DPi program
MULTIMATIC IS TAKING OVER FROM TEAM JOEST WHO HAD BEEN RUNNING THE PROGRAM SINCE 2017
Multimatic has been a technical partner on this program so are very familiar with the running of the Mazda team. Initially, Multimatic takeover was to take place after Sebring which was then the Long Beach Grand Prix. With everything coming to a halt for the moment, until late May, Mazda went ahead in confirming the change.
“Mazda is looking forward to going racing with Multimatic when IMSA resumes racing, with a shared goal of winning the IMSA driver and manufacturer’s championships,” said Nelson Cosgrove, Director, Mazda Motorsports. “The management and engineering staff at Multimatic is familiar with our team and will continue to elevate our program.”
No changes for as for the driver lineup with Jonathan Bomarito and Harry Tincknell sharing the No. 55. Ryan Hunter-Reay will be joining for the Michelin Endurance Cup events to take place at Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta and Sebring. No. 77 will be driven by Oliver Jarvis and Tristan Nunez with Olivier Pla coming in for the Michelin Endurance Cup events.
