THE ACURA SPORTS CAR CHALLENGE WAS DUE TO BE THE NEXT ROUND OF IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP
With what that is happening around the world currently, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course had no choice but to cancel the event although they are working with Acura and IMSA to find a fitting date on a calendar that has seen many changes thus far.
Here is the the release from the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course:
“We are all aware that these are uncertain and unprecedented times. We want you to know that Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School are evaluating what that means for our upcoming driving school courses, track rentals and club events, as well as the 2020 racing season schedule which was set to begin the first weekend of May.”
“As of today, The Acura Sports Car Challenge, originally scheduled for May 1-3, 2020 is postponed, and we are working with Acura and IMSA to identify a new date later this season. Also, The Mid-Ohio School will delay the start of driving courses until May 8th. If you have a course date with The Mid-Ohio School before May 8th, our call center team will reach out to you via email at the address on file to reschedule. In the interim, questions can be sent to email@example.com.”
“Mid-Ohio will continue to monitor the CDC recommended guidelines for mass gatherings of people as well as the guidance from the Ohio Department of Health, so please understand dates and procedures may change. We ask that everyone operate with good judgement and patience, and please stay safe. Visit midohio.com for ongoing updates.”
The following event on IMSA’s calendar is now Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix scheduled for May 29-30.
