Konica Minolta in the lead at the 16 hours mark
WRT SPEEDSTAR AUDI SPORT IN SECOND PLACE AS PFAFF MOTORSPORTS FELL BEHIND AND ROMAN DE ANGELIS’S 2020 ROLEX 24 CAME TO AN EARLY END.
Not many full course yellow period thus far at Rolex 24 at Daytona. Although, one of them was caused by the collision between the #47 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and The Heart of Racing’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Unfortunately, the damages were serious to be able to repare and rejoin the race.
Pfaff Motorsports had been a frontrunner for a good majority of the race but as of right now, they stand in 12th place with seven laps down.
On the other hand, Daniel Morad and his teammates are currently in second place in the WRT Speedstar Audi Sport. At the time of the posted results, they were less than one minute behind the leader Paul Miller Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 #48.
AIM Vasser Sullivan also had their share of difficulties as the #12 had to go back to its garage for repairs. It occupies the 14th place with 20 laps down on the leader. The sister car, #14 is in 10th place although five laps down.
DPI sees #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R leading from #5 Mustang Sampling Racing / JDC-Miller MotorSports by a margin of about 50 seconds. In third place, Mazda Team Joest with its #77.
Bruno Spengler and his BMW Team RLL are 13 laps down at the moment as the class leader is BMW Team RLL #24 followed by the two Porsche GT Team with #912 ahead of 911.
The current leader for the GTD class is Paul Miller Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan #48 with a 56 second lead over the WRT Speedstar Audi Sport who is ahead of #44 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of GRT Magnus.
