Porsche GT3 Cup Road America: 5 Canadians in the top 10
ROMAN DEANGELIS TO START ON POLE FOR BOTH RACES
The second event of the season where Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA and Canada are together and with 35 cars to have qualified it would sure be nice to have this number of competitors all the time.
There were two practice session this morning and Roman DeAngelis set the fastest time in the first practice as Maxwell Root ended up quickest of the second practice.
Qualifying session was scheduled for 15 minutes late afternoon but with a full course yellow early in the session drivers only had five laps to make it count this included 2 out laps.
Roman DeAngelis recorded a 2:10.373 a good 0.675s ahead of second place Ethan Simioni a surprised second for Policaro Motorsport and Maxwell Root will start third.
Jeff Kingsley will start fourth, Patrick Dussault ninth and Marco Cirone 10th.
The starting grid for the second race is determined on the second fastest lap in qualifying and again it will be Roman DeAngelis on pole by 0.389s over Maxwell Root and Alan Metny, whom we have seen competing in the Canadian series as well, will start third with his time 0.577s adrift of DeAngelis.
Jeff Kingsley will start race 2 in fourth, Ethan Simioni in sixth, Patrick Dussault in seventh and Marco Cirone 10th.
Race 1 takes place Saturday with a green flag scheduled for 11:30am for a 45 minutes race.
