WITH ALL THREE PRACTICES TODAY AND QUALIFYING AT THE END OF THE DAY, TIMES WERE VERY CLOSE BETWEEN THE TOP RUNNERS
Lime rock schedule is particular and it is what has always been with all the races happening over the 2 days.
The Michelin challenge took to the track for their first practice this morning at 10:05 for a one hour session. in the GS class, Jesse Lazare with teammate Craig Fergus driving the Motorsport In Action McLaren GT4 ended the session in seventh place. Oley Fidani/Scott Hargrove in the AWA Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 were 12th; Kyle Marcelli with KohR Motorsport Mustang GT4 placed 14th and Compass Racing of Kuno Wittmer/Peter Rees finished the session in 16th.
In the TCR class, Mark Wilkins/Michael Lewis in the Bryan Herta Autosport w/Curb Agajanian Hyundai Veloster N TCR were on top of the timing chart while James Vance driving an Audi RS3 LMS TCR DSG for Fast MD Racing ended in ninth place.
The second session, which lasted 45 minutes, saw Kyle Marcelli place fourth in the GS class. The duo of Fidani/Hargrove placed 8th, Compass Racing and Kuno Wittmer had the 12th fastest time and Motorsport In Action’s Jesse Lazare in 14th. In the TCR class, Mark Wilkins was fourth just ahead of James Vance in fifth.
The third session is always a short one as qualifying takes place immediately after. This give a handful of laps to teams in sorting out their car for qualifying and not all teams opt for a flyer. They rather keep it all for qualifying.
Qualifying for each class is 15 minutes. The first to qualify were the TCR and it is Mark Wilkins/Micheal Lewis in the Bryan Herta Autosport w/Curb Agajanian Hyundai Veloster N TCR who will start on Pole for tomorrow’s race. James Vance is to start ninth.
In the GS Class, Motorsport In Action Jesse Lazare qualified the car in fifth place; Kyle Marcelli’s KohR Motorsport Mustang GT4 placed seventh, Kuno Wittmer’s Compass Racing McLaren GT4 in 13th and Fidani/Hargrove in 17th.
The 2hour race will get underway at 11:05 Saturday morning.
