Porsche gets Pole in GTLM as Pfaff Motorsports misses pole in GTD by 0.119s
AS PREDICTED, CLOSE FIGHT FOR POLE IN BOTH GTLM AND GTD
Starting grid is set for the Northeast Grand Prix Lime Rock Park in what was a great battle for Pole.
The top 3 in GTLM was separated by 0.189s and it is the Porsche Motorsport #912 of Bamber/Vanthoor that edged the sister Porsche 911 RSR #911 of Pilet/Tandy by a mere 0.052s with a time of 49.133s. Third place went to the BMW Team RLL BMW M8 GTE of Blonqvist/De Philipi.
The 8 cars in GTLM field was separated by 0.731s.
Pfaff Motorsports Meyer-Shank Racing w/ Curb-Agajanian
The GTD battle for Pole was even more thrilling as the top 10 were separated by half a second.
Pole went to #86 Meyer Shank Racing w/ Curb-Agajanian Acura NSX GT3 of Farnbacher/Hindman 0.026s clear of second place #33 Riley Motorsports – Team AMG of Keating/Bleekemolen posting a pole time of 51.456s. Third fastest was the #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Sellers/Lewis 0.076s from pole.
Zach Robichon qualified the Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R in fifth place with a time that was 0.119s short of the pole time. the #14 AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Heistand/Hawksworth will start in sixth while the #12 will start in 13th place. Compass Racing McLaren 720S GT3 of Holton/Plumb qualified in 10th place.
The 13 cars GTD class were separated by 0.780s.
It promises to be a great 2hours 40m race this afternoon with the green flag set for 3:10 Eastern time.
