Nicolas Latifi scores precious points at Silverstone
A PODIUM AND A FIFTH PLACE FOR LATIFI WHO REMAINS A CLOSE SECOND IN THE FIA F2 CHAMPIONSHIP
Nicolas Latifi renewed with the podium at Silverstone after qualifying in fourth place for the feature race.
“Unfortunately, we had a problem with the engine limiter during the qualification and that does not allow us to be better placed on the grid or to make the pole! Fourth place is still not too bad. I had a great time during the feature race, we had some good passes for first place, but we missed a bit of rhythm. I am a little disappointed for the team because I really wanted to win this event,” Lattifi mentioned.
His efforts were still good enough for a second place finish and a very important 18 championship points.
By finishing Race 1 in second place, Nicolas had to start in seventh place for Race 2.
“I had a good start in the Sprint race, I was very aggressive but I damaged my tires in the first two laps and then had to look after them until the checkered flag. The race was difficult to manage, so I am happy to score points even if we could have further reduced the gap in the championship,” said Latifi.
It is in fifth place that Latifi ended the second race of the weekend, again scoring another 6 points in the championship.
Latifi is still second overall, 31 points from championship leader Nick De Vries.
