CORVETTE RACING GETS GTLM POLE AND ACURA MEYER CHANK RACING W/CURB-AGAJANIAN FOR GTD POLE
Mazda Team Joest #77 of Oliver Jarvis/Tristan Nunez/Timo Bernhard with Oliver Jarvis given the driving duties for qualifying. Jarvis beat both Acura to pole with a time of 1:29.639. #6 Acura Team Penske of Montoya/Cameron were 0.223s behind in second. Third went to #7 Acura Team Penske of Taylor/Castroneves 0.289s behind the Mazda. Top five was completed by the #55 Mazda of Bomarito/Thincknell/Pla and #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac of Van Der Zande/Jordan Taylor.
GTLM pole went to Jan Magnussen/Antonio Garcia of #3 Corvette Racing with a time of 1:40.799. Second place will be Ford Chip Ganassi Racing #67 of Briscoe/Westbrook 0.317s behind and third to the #4 Corvette Racing of Gavin/Milner 0.492s behind.
Finally, the GTD pole went to the #86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura of Mario Farnbacher/Trent Hindman/Justin Marks with a lap time of 1:44.978. The second Acura #57 of Heinricher Racing w/Meyer Shank Racing of Katherine Legge/Christina Nielson/Ana Beatriz came in second place 0.317s behind. In third, #86 Turner Motorsport BMW of Auberlen/Foley/Machavern 0.528s behind the pole sitter.
As for our Canadians, Daniel Morad will start 5th with teammates Chris Mies and Ricardo Feller. Pfaff Motorsports with Scott Hargrove/Zach Robichon and Lars Kern qualified 6th and the two Lexus RC F GT3 of AIM Vasser Sullivan will start from 8th and 15th respectively.
The Sahen’s Six Hours of the Glen race is scheduled to get underway at 9:45am Sunday.
