NASCAR Pinty’s: Simon Dion-Viens at Autodrome Chaudière this weekend
AN EMOTIONAL RACE AWAITS THE #37 CASTROL CANADA TEAM
Simon Dion-Viens will be in action Saturday, June 29, in what will be the first Nascar Pinty’s Series Championship race of the 2019 season on Quebec soil.
The event takes place at the small oval track of Autodrome Chaudière, located in the Quebec City region. The Kamouraska driver will drive his #37 Castrol Canada racing team supported by Bestbuy South Shore Auto Parts, Rousseau Metal and Impact Ford.
“We had a good first race this past May at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and the team and I cannot wait to get back on track,” Simon mentions. “The Chaudière event will be a great challenge as I will compete with the best Canadian stock car drivers on this short oval. On the other hand, the test day carried out in preparation for this race with the #37 Castrol Canada / Bestbuy South Shore Auto Parts / Rousseau Metal / Impact Ford was very conclusive and we are confident of being in a position for a good result this weekend,” concludes Dion-Viens.
“More importantly, the Chaudière race will have a very special meaning for all the team members and myself,” continues Simon. “We have been unfortunately affected by the passing of Bruno Dionne, last week, a member of my race team. We would like to express our deepest condolences to all members of his family and friends.”
The action will begin this Saturday, June 29 at 11h20 for practices. The qualification is scheduled for 2:35pm and the green flag will be waved at 5:30pm. Note that the race will be broadcast on TSN and RDS.
Simon Dion-Viens would like to thank his main partners: Castrol Canada, BestBuy Auto Parts, Rousseau Metal, Impact Ford, The Trois-Rivières Grand Prix, Rémi Charest Enterprises, Construction Luc Moreau, OMP and Jerry Hall Design.
