Devlin DeFrancesco gets his FIA F3 season underway at Barcelona
THIS WEEKEND MARKS THE FIRST F3 RACE OF THE SEASON FOR THE 19-YEAR OLD DEFRANCESCO
Having signed with the Trident Motorsport outfit this winter and following pre-season testing, Defrancesco is looking forward to going back at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya which will also host the F1 and F2 races at the same time this weekend.
DeFrancesco won at this track back in 2017 while competing win the Spanish F3 Championship and has completed a pre-season test this winter as well. So, it is a track he knows well.
Completing all his programs set by the team during pre-season testing, Devlin left testing pleased with the progress he made with the car to prepare him for what will be a new and exciting challenge.
Staying active ready throughout the off season, the Canadian-Italian has been working hard to be mentally and physically prepared for any new challenges he will face. Whilst keeping race sharp with a hugely successful drive, as the youngest prototype driver at the Rolex Daytona 24 in January.
Despite his familiarity with the Catalonian circuit, the nineteen-year-old is under no illusion of the challenge in front of him as he lines up onto the 30 strong-grid but remains unfazed and extremely excited to get the season underway.
The action will get underway Friday morning with a 45 minutes free practice session followed by a qualifying session in the afternoon. Two races are scheduled for the weekend and both are for 22 laps. Race 1 is scheduled for 10am on Saturday and Race 2 10am Sunday morning.
