Sam Fellows to race in four Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada events
FELLOWS TO DRIVE A PORSCHE OF LONDON SPONSORED PORSCHE GT3 CUP WITH SPECIAL LIVERY FROM THE EARLY DAYS OF THE PORSCHE CUP SERIES
Pfaff Motorsports just announced their participation into the 2019 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama with drivers Sam Fellows (son of Canadian racing legend Ron Fellows) and Shaun McKaigue.
Sam Fellows took part in several events in 2018 with one of them ending with a class win driving a BMW M235i prepared by Pfaff Motorsports.
This season, Fellows will drive the no. 35 Porsche Motorsports prepared 911 GT3 Cup in the Gold Cup class for four events of the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada by Yokohama in a livery that will bring back memories to some. Sam will drive the same colours father Ron had when he competed in the Rothmans Porsche Turbo Cup series sponsored by Pfaff Porsche.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be driving with Pfaff Motorsports for the 2019 season,” said Fellows. “My dad drove 944 Turbo Cup races in 1990 in a Pfaff-sponsored car, so to have that family link, and be a second generation driver for Pfaff is really special for me. Pfaff Motorsports runs a world-class racing program; I can’t thank Chris Pfaff, Steve Bortolotti, and Chris Leavens from Porsche of London enough for their support and faith in me. Racing in a single-make championship like the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama is a tremendous opportunity. The level of competition is very high and it has been a proven stepping stone for young drivers. I know I have a steep learning curve in front of me, but I’ve trained very hard this off-season, so I feel confident and ready to take this step.”
Fellows’ first outing in the series will be at the Victoria Day Speedfest weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 17-19. His second will be at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve as part of the Formula 1 weekend on June 7-9. Then, it is to be Elkart Lake(WI) August 2-4 and the season finale at Circuit Mont-Tremblant September 27-29.
Shaun McKaigue
As for Shaun McKaigue, who happens to be one of the original seven drivers to take part in the inaugural season of the Canadian Porsche Cup at Calabogie in 2011(and won the Gold Cup), he will contest the entire season in the Platinum Masters category with sponsorship from Pfaff Porsche, FER-PAL Infrastructure, Aquapipe/Logistec.
