Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada: Mark Motors Racing confirms Roman De Angelis
DE ANGELIS TO RACE IN BOTH US AND CANADA PORSCHE GT3 CUP CHALLENGE BY YOKOHAMA
Announced yesterday on Mark Motors Racing website, Roman De Angelis will be back at the wheel of the Mark Motors Racing Porsche GT3 Cup. Marco Cirone will drive the second car for the team.
This will be Roman’s third year in the series, his second in the Platinum Cup. The talented driver was teammate to Championship winner Zach Robichon last year and battled for victories every weekend. Roman will also drive in the US series, driving for Kelly Moss Racing. The first event of the US Series taking place this weekend at Barber Motorsport Park in Alabama.
Roman’s 2019 season started early as he competed in the first round of IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona this past January driving an Audi R8 LMS GT3 for the WRT-Team Audi Canada. The team finished an impressive third in the GTD class.



“I cannot explain what a feeling it was for me to live out this dream of mine and be given such an amazing opportunity. In between races I have been training very hard for this upcoming season and feel very energized and ready to get back behind the wheel of my GT3″, De Angelis commented. “Being surrounded by two great teams in Mark Motors and Kelly- Moss is a privilege for me and I can’t thank both enough for their faith in my ability as a driver.” De Angelis commented.
“This is a big year for Mark Motors Racing” said Mark Motors Group Executive Vice President Liza Mrak. “We have the pressure of coming off a winning year and of course, wanting to keep that spot in 2019. Roman is part of the winning recipe and we have full faith that he has what it takes to get us there!”
The first race of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama is schedule for May 17-19 Victoria Day Speedfest at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
