Pfaff Motorsports third in IMSA GTD qualifying at Sebring
ACURA PENSKE ON POLE IN DPI. PORSCHE FIRST IN GLTM. DANIEL MORAD/MOTOPLAST BY LAND MOTORSPORT BEST OF AUDI.
Teams were busy yesterday with two daytime practice sessions under sunny and very warm conditions here at Sebring International Raceway and a third one in the evening. With a fourth one taking place this morning.
Mazda Motorsport has shown great pace again topping two of the practices.
In GTD, it is Pfaff Motorsports that has shown great pace ending two of the sessions in P3 and P5.
The Audi R8 LMS GT3 received a BOP(Balance of Performance) adjustment and it proved not to be a positive change for Motoplast by Land Motorsport and Daniel Morad who mentioned a lost of about three tenths of a second per lap.
So, following a short break after session four, each class had 15 minutes to qualify for tomorrow’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hour of Sebring.
In DPi, it is No. 6 Acura Penske on Pole with a time of 1:45.685. In second and third, no. 77 Mazda Motorsport and third the no. 7 Acura Penske ended with the same lap time of 1:45.011.
The two Porsche will start on the Front row in GTLM with no. 911 clocking a time of 1:55.899 which was 0.143 faster than the sister car no. 912. Third will be No. 3 Corvette Racing 0.259 behind the pole sitter.
In the GTD class, Pfaff Motorsport had a great qualifying session as Zach Robichon qualified the car in third place. On pole is No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb-Agajanian Acura NSX GT3 with second place going to No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3.
Daniel Morad qualified the Audi R8 LMS GT3 for Montaplast by Land Motorsport in 10th place 1.272 seconds behind the pole time.
AIM Vasser Sullivan will their two cars start in eight(No. 12) and No. 14 will start 17th having not posted a time.
There will be a 20 minutes warm-up session tomorrow morning at 8am. Followed by a green flag scheduled for 10:30AM for the start of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
