IMSA back at Sebring in preparation for SuperSebring

IMSA teams were busy at Sebring International Raceway over the past couple of days. Sebring being quite different than the bankings of Daytona and also renowned as a very bumpy track, teams and drivers working on setting up their machines in preparation for the SuperSebring weekend coming up in three weeks time.

Pfaff Motorsport worked tirelessly to prepare a new tub in time to attend the test after they discovered substantial damages following the incident towards the end of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. You can watch a time-lapse video of their effort in rebuilding the car on their Instagram account. Following a shake down of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, they ran their simulations all day and into the evening, Thursday, with drivers Zach Robichon, Scott Hargrove and Lars Kern.
Daniel Morad is also back in action for MONTAPLAST by Land Motorsport R8 LMS GT3 sharing the duties with Chris Mies and Ricardo Feller.

Aaron Povoledo is at the wheel of Conquest Racing Westport Yachts’s LMP3 with teammate Ross Chouet. Following a conversation with Aaron, it seems they had discovered a faulty brake bias after their first race at Daytona. The car being very unstable under braking as side to side braking pressure was uneven causing lock-ups at times. This also created flat spots and in turn heavy vibrations at high speeds on the Daytona banking. The Sebring test will give the team a chance to make sure the issue has been addressed and continue to learn more about the car’s behaviour to be ready for the race on Thursday March 14th.
SuperSebring is a doubleheader scheduled for March 13-16 with the only round of the World Endurance Championship(WEC) to be held in North America, the 1000 Miles of Sebring, in conjunction with IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
Also scheduled is the Michelin Pilot Challenge on March 15th where Kuno Wittmer will have a chance to sweep the Florida races driving for Compass Racing.
