Konica Minolta Cadillac holds on to the lead in wet conditions

ACURA IN SECOND AND THIRD. ZANARDI BACK FOR ANOTHER STINT IN THE NO. 24 BMW MOTORSPORT.

As predicted previously, as teams were preparing for rain, the sky opened up around 4:30am and it has been consistent. the track is currently on a full course yellow due the no. 4 Corvette going off at the end of the front stretch. As a precaution, officials red flagged the race to dissipate the standing water.

Fernando Alonso just replaced Jordan Taylor in the no. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac. Right behind them are the two Acura Team Penske no. 6 and 7.

In the GTLM class, Risi Competizione is ahead of the no. 912 Porsche and the no. 66 Ford of Chip Ganassi Racing. The top six positions are on the same lap.

AIM Vasser Sullivan – Lexus RC F Gt3

In the GTD, it is also a very tight battle for first place. The no. 33 Mercedes AMG-GT3 Riley Motorsport Team AMG leads the no. 86 Acura NSX GT3 and the no. 14 AIM Vasser Sullivan. The other AIM Vasser Sullivan no. 12 is in 11th place and on the lead lap.

Daniel Morad just handed the car over to Dries Vanthoor as MONTAPLAST by Land Motorsport is currently in fourth place. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 of WRT Speedstar Audi Sport and Roman DeAngelis is running in seventh place.

Unfortunately, the Pfaff Motorsport Porsche 911 Gt3 R team is having a difficult time as they are in 19th place and 20 laps behind.

The predictions are not optimistic for the weather as it seems the rain will keep the track wet maybe to the end of the race at 2:35pm.
