Acura Team Penske leads at the 12 hour mark
ALESSANDRO ZANARDI COMPLETES HIS FIRST STINT
Something nice about IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the fact that the performance of all class is pretty well balanced.
Just as we came up to the 12th hour of racing, a full course yellow got the field back together. Nonetheless, the top four Dpi cars were separated by less than seven seconds!
In the lead, the no. 6 Acura Team Penske followed by the Konica Minolta Cadillac of Alonso and third is the second Acura Team Penske.

In the GTLM, Porsche is occupies the first and second place. Good news for Porsche who were a little behind with their no. 12 car earlier on as it made up the laps to get back on the lead lap. Third is the BMW no. 25.

Alessandro Zanardi finished his first stint in the BMW no. 24 and could be seen with a huge smile as he got out of the car.
As for our Canadians in the GTD, Daniel Morad is in fourth, Roman DeAngelis in fifth and Scott Hargrove/Zach Robichon in sixth. AIM Vasser Sullivan with their two Lexus are 11th and 16th.
At the moment the weather is clear. But teams are monitoring the weather radar and preparing for possible shower around 4:30am.
To be continued…
