Acura Leads the Rolex 24 after the third hour
PORSCHE, FORD, CORVETTE, BMW HIT TROUBLE EARLY ON. MONTAPLAST BY LAND MOTORSPORT OF DANIEL MORAD LEADS IN THE GTD CLASS
Watching from the main grandstand, what a rush it was to see the green flag waved and to see the crowd cheer as the cars passed by.

A great start to the event as the first full course yellow came out at the end of the second hour.
Early on the no. 77 Mazda Team Joest led the way and through a series of pit stops the lead changes a couple of times. The no. 6 Acura of Juan Pablo Montoya, Dane Cameron and Simon Pagenaud lead for a while. Then the no. 77 Mazda Team Joest retook the lead with Rene Rast driving at the moment. So, second is the no. 7 Acura with Helio Castroneves at the wheel and in third the no. 6 Acura driven by Dane Cameron. At the moment, the top 3 are running within seconds of each other.

In the GTLM, difficult start for three of the cars has they had trouble early on. The Corvette no. 3(3 laps behind), the no. 912 Porsche also 3 laps behind, the no. 67 Ford GT(4 laps behind), The BMW no. (4 laps behind).
Leading the class is Patrick Pillet in the no. 911 Porsche followed by the no. 62 Ferrari of Miguel Molina and in third Dirck Muller in the no. 66 Ford GT.
In the GTD class, MONTAPLAST by Land Motorsport of Daniel Morad took the lead as AIM Vasser Sullivan is now in second place and third is the Acura no. 86 with Mario Farnbacher at the wheel.
The WRT Speedstar Audi Sport of Audi Sport Canada and Roman DeAngelis are currently 11th. As for Pfaff Motorsports, they are sitting in 15th, one lap behind.
Still very early in the race, lots can happen, let’s hope things come around for Pfaff Motorsport of Scott Hargrove and Zach Robichon.
