ANSA Motorsport takes the win. Povoledo ninth. Scott Maxwell third.

Last year, it was Roman De Angelis who won the Prototype Challenge race with ANSA Motorsport. For the second year in a row, ANSA Motorsport won the season opening race. This time with Leo Lamelas and Neil Alberico at the wheel. The team had to miss the qualifying due to a late engine change. Starting 15th on the grid, they moved their way up to the top step of the podium.
Second place came down to the Forty7 Motorsport team, with the number 47 entry, also coming form behind having started in 16th place.

Canadian Scott Maxwell, another name well known in Canadian motorsport, with co-drivers Bruce Hamilton and Tonis Kasemets brought their car to third place after missing qualifying and starting in 17th. Bonus to the team as Kasemets clocked the quickest time with a new lap record of 1.44:021 beating last year’s time that belong to Daniel Morad.

Aaron Povoledo and teammate Ross Chouet finished in ninth place having started from fourth for Conquest Racing. Solid result for a team that were at their first outing with a new car in a new series. More to come from them for sure this season.
