Toronto based AIM Autosport and Vasser-Sullivan Racing (AIM VASSER SULLIVAN) to run Lexus RC F GT3 in IMSA’s GTD class
Since 1995, AIM Autosport, based out of Woodbridge, has been very successful in every form of racing they have competed in. And the individuals involved with AIM Motorsport are names very familiar with the Canadian motorsport industry.
in 2019, AIM Autosport partners Andrew Bordin(Sporting Director), Ian Willis(Team Principal and engineer) and Keith Willis(engineer) have joined forces with Vasser-Sullivan. The same Vasser-Sullivan duo competing in the IndyCar Series, in association with Dayle Coyne Racing, with driver Sebastien Bourdais . Jim Bowie, also Toronto based, acts as the Chief Commercial Officer.
AIM VASSER SULLIVAN (AVS) is to run two Lexus RC F GT3 in IMSA’s WeatherTech Sportscar Championship GTD Class. On top of using their current facility in Woodbridge, the team will also operate from a new US-based race facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Driving for the team will be Townsend Bell(USA) and Frankie Montecalvo(USA) in the number 12 car. The number 14 car will be driven by Richard Heistand(USA) and Jack Hawksworth(UK).
Following a couple of days of testing Michelin tires at Daytona International Speedway, the team was very happy with the behaviour of both, cars and tires. The final livery of the Lexus RC F GT3 will be unveiled at the Roar before the 24 January 4-6.
